Wie reinigt man einen Grinder

Guides

The grinder is one of the basic accessories for the use of marijuana, since it allows us to crumble the herb to the maximum and thus take advantage of all its essence when we go to smoke it.

It is a very effective accessory, thanks to the spikes inside and the different parts that allow the material to be separated. However, over time, a grinder can accumulate too much debris and lose friction, which implies less effectiveness.

To prevent this from happening, it is important to clean the grinder periodically and make it as good as possible, so that it is like new and we can continue using it as before.

What do you need to clean a grinder?

To clean a grinder you have different methods. Depending on each of them, the accessories you will need will be different. However, in most cases it is very likely that you require the following elements:

  • A container
  • Ethyl alcohol or water
  • Cotton buds
  • Toothbrush
  • Cloth to clean

How to clean a plastic grinder step by step

Here is a guide on how to clean a plastic grinder, the accessories you require and the different steps to follow:

Step 1 – Fill a glass or container with ethyl alcohol

Take a glass container and fill it halfway. The best thing for this process is to take advantage of alcohol at 96º.

Step 2 – Enter the grinder

We are going to introduce the grinder inside the glass with alcohol. It is not necessary that you wash it before or try to clean any remains, the liquid that we have poured will take care of it.

Step 3 – Let stand

The cleansing effect of alcohol is not going to be immediate. We have to wait a while for it to develop. Normally, it is necessary to wait between half an hour or an hour, but if you want to ensure an effective cleaning, you can leave it overnight.

Step 4 – Take out the grinder

Carefully remove the grinder from the container and leave it on some support such as paper. In this process it is important not to dry the grinder, since it will still have remains on its surface and that of the barbs.

Step 5 – Use a swab to clean

With an ear swab you can easily remove the remains now moistened, which will remain attached to its end.

Step 6 – Wash the plastic grinder

When you have removed all the remains, proceed to wash the grinder completely, to remove any possible element that has remained, as well as to eliminate the alcohol completely.

Step 7 – Let dry

The grinder is now completely clean. Now you just have to let it dry until it is completely ready to use again or help you with some rag.

How to clean a metal grinder step by step

Lately, metal grinders are becoming popular, even above plastic grinders.

In Smoking Paper you have many exclusive models of metal grinders, with really attractive designs such as our Blue grinder Good Time Forour black grinder Let Me Grind You or the Metallic Red grinder model.

For any of them we detail how to clean a metal grinder effectively. You could also do it using the previous method, but we offer you another alternative.

Step 1 – Freeze the grinder

Put the grinder in the freezer and wait a few hours. The goal is for the resin or existing debris to adhere to the ice sheet.

Step 2 – Take out the grinder

Remove the grinder from the freezer and leave it on a piece of paper. Sometimes it is possible to take advantage of the remains you clean for later use.

Step 3 – Scrape the barbs

With a hard-bristled brush or a sharp object, proceed to scrape by applying light pressure, on the surface of the barbs and the edge of the grinder. You can see how the remains are much easier to remove than without this process.

Step 4 – Sweep the waste

With a toothbrush or cotton swab, you can go over the entire surface and sweep away any debris that may have remained unremoved.
